Warehouse Storeperson All Rounder

A Warehouse Storeperson is responsible for managing inventory and ensuring the efficient operation of a warehouse. The job duties of a warehouse may vary depending, but typical responsibilities include:

1. Receiving and processing incoming stock and materials: The storeman is responsible for inspecting all incoming goods and verifying their accuracy and condition against purchase orders, invoices or other shipping documents.
2. Picking and filling orders from stock: The storeman will need to locate items requested by customers or other departments, and ensure the correct items are delivered to the correct location.
3. Packing and shipping orders: Once orders have been picked and filled, the storeman will be responsible for packing and preparing them for shipping, including labelling, arranging for courier or transport, and ensuring the appropriate paperwork is completed.
4. Managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse: The storeman is responsible for ensuring the warehouse is organized and efficient, including managing the placement of stock and identifying items that require replenishment.
5. Maintaining inventory levels and performing regular stock counts: The storeman must monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available, and regularly perform stock counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
6. Performing quality control checks on incoming and outgoing stock: The storeman must inspect all incoming goods and outgoing orders to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects or damage.
7. Maintaining accurate records of inventory and stock movements: The storeman must ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded and maintained, including updating inventory systems and other related documentation.
8. Operating and maintaining warehouse equipment: The storeman must operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment, ensuring they are used safely and efficiently.
9. Keeping the warehouse clean, safe, and organized: The storeman is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and organized working environment, including conducting regular safety checks and reporting any hazards or incidents.
10. Coordinating with other departments: The storeman must coordinate with other departments such as logistics, sales, and customer service to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, resolve issues and address any concerns related to inventory or stock movements.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software.
13. A valid forklift license - experience driving both reach and counterbalance forklifts
14. Be fit and healthy and capable of lifting up to 30kgs
15. Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.

The successful Warehouse Storeperson should have excellent attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They should also have strong communication skills, as they will need to communicate with other warehouse staff, as well as vendors. Additionally, physical stamina and strength will be required to move and lift heavy items.
