Our client, a raw materials and ingredients distributer, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor with a Forklift license for their afternoon shift.
This is a unique opportunity to join a leading global chemical, ingredient and raw material distributor active in more than 1000 specialty and commodity products.
The role is permanent, is based at Minto and is an afternoon shift - the hours are 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all warehouse personnel and site visitors adhere to policies, procedures, and site-specific conditions of WH&S in compliance with state and federal legislation.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, related logistics activities in co-ordination with the Store Manager to drive DIFOT performance.
- Effective and cohesive team management in mentoring, inducting and training warehouse operatives and related functions in processes, systems and operational tasks and functions.
- Ensure inventory management best practices are applied encompassing (but not limited to) stock storage, location, segregation, quantities, packaging, labelling and housekeeping.
- Responsible for good housekeeping and hygiene standards ensuring that GMP and HACCP compliance along with general warehouse cleanliness is maintained across the warehouse and related grounds.
- Timely and effective execution of warehouse, MHE and safety related maintenance and inspection tasks/remedial action and reporting.
- Identify and act on opportunities for improvement in co-ordination with the Store Manager, whilst resolving raised quality problems.
To be considered for this role you will need to possess the following:
- Minimum of 4 years' industry and supervisory experience (essential)
- Cert IV of Warehousing or willing to undertake training as part of accepting the role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills in managing and guiding staff at all levels in warehouse operations and related activities.
- Hold a current Australian forklift licence - minimum LF; whilst either a EWP, Telehandler (CN2) and or LO licences are desirable.
- Demonstratable knowledge of Work, Health & Safety state and federal legislation
- Knowledgeable of Dangerous Goods and Hazardous substances regulatory handling and storage legislation or be willing to undertake training prior to commencement in the role.
- Experience in improvement and control systems and processes such as GMP, HACCP, Quality, Lean, Environmental management, CoR and can demonstrate knowledge and application of standards and government regulation.
- Excellent time management, reporting and organisational skills.
- Experience with ERP and WMS tools with focus on warehouse and inventory systems.
- Ability to work in a well-paced and physically active environment.
- Effecitve verbal and written communication skills
