In this important permanent opportunity, as a Technical Advisor – Water Quality Risk, you will bring your technical expertise to help manage Water Quality risk for Water Corporation customers.
In this role, you will be called upon:
· Manage, undertake, and continuously improve the risk assessments for drinking water and wastewater schemes and risk assessment outcomes are integrated into ADRs, Opex Plans and the water and wasteWater Quality Strategic Investment Business Cases
· Ensure alignment of risk assessment outcomes with Water Safety Plans and Process Control Tables and undertake the completion of Water Safety Plans as required.
· Support the Corporate risk process associated with water and wasteWater Quality through the regular review of the risk profiles and tracking of risk mitigation actions and integrate risk assessment processes and information into Corporate Risk Systems (e.g., ORA etc.)
· Undertake water and wasteWater Quality focussed improvement projects to contribute to risk mitigation and reduction.
The technical aspects include assessing, reviewing, providing recommendations, data analysis and reporting, to ensure our outstanding Water Quality Risk assessment processes are factored within risk management decision making.
A strong technical background in the following Water Quality management areas would be beneficial, as you will be representing the Water Quality team in a Technical Advisory space. These areas include source protection, Water Quality Risk, treatment requirements and wastewater reuse and disposal management.
Strong communication skills will be fundamental and critical to your success, given our teams share information, you will become proficient in explaining and advising Water Quality Risk.
The position is based in Leederville. Regional site visits will be invaluable as you establish and maintain strong relationships with key local stakeholders.

Your skills and attributes:
Prioritisation and organisation skills will be imperative and required into practise to ensure that you deliver great outcomes.
Your background will be within scientist or engineering disciplines with experience across Water Quality, supply, planning, design, and operations.
Not only will you bring your expertise into this role, but you will also gain a great deal of valuable experience.
You will be familiar with the Australian Drinking Water Guideline and/or the Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling and you will be a strong advocate for management of Water Quality, as outlined in the guidelines.
