Harvey Water is an Irrigation Cooperative providing water to our Members (Shareholders) and Customers ranging from local farmers, mineral extraction and processing industries, hobby farms, local authorities and community groups.
Harvey Water is currently looking for an eager, safety-minded Water Controller to join our team. This opportunity allows for the day-to-day operation of our irrigation network during the irrigation season. Water Controllers are responsible for managing the release of water to the irrigation system.
Job Description
The position will rotate through the various asset based and delivery operation areas of our responsibility. This entails a range of tasks, such as:
• Delivery of water through Harvey Water’s assets;
• Field based minor asset maintenance of repair works as directed by the line Manager;
• Maintenance against a wide range of water infrastructure;
• Fault diagnosis and management of the challenges faced by our daily operations;
• Maintain effective communication with irrigators through telephone and email to ensure efficient processes;
• Pre-season channel maintenance and preparation;
• Water efficiency practices and awareness to reduce waste;
• Enter data efficiently and accurately into the various software – Harvey Water will provide training and support on how to operate this software.

• A current C Class licence;

• Experience in water services and farming is advantageous.
Location
The position will be based through our irrigation district, which runs between Brunswick and Benger. The Harvey Water office is located in Harvey. This role would be best suited for those candidates living in or within close proximity to Brunswick or Benger.
Term of Employment
The position is offered on a seasonal basis, following an initial three-month probationary period and dependant on satisfactory annual performance reviews. Management KPIs and performance-based targets will be the basis of the annual performance review.
Salary Range
A competitive base salary will be offered, plus 14.5% superannuation and access to a bonus program dependant on skills, qualifications and experience.
