About the role
As the Way Maintainer, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Network Development Asset and Maintenance (NDAM) Group.
You will report in the Track Ganger in Ouyen (a town in Regional Victoria located in the Rural city of Mildura 441 Kilometres North West of Melbourne. In this Track Maintenance role, you will work apart of a small engaging team to participate in specialised maintenance of the V/Line freight rail infrastructure network.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Maintenance work including the renewal of track work and crossings including sleepers, rail, ballasts and fastenings
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with appropriate OH&S standards and regulations
- Based in Ouyen, however, travel across the wider North West will be required at times
- Hours will be Monday to Friday 7:30-4pm with every second Friday off and the flexibility to work overtime and away from home as required
About you
You will form part of an inclusive engaging team who work together to maintain the rail assets to continue to keep freight moving throughout Victoria. In this entry level role, you will learn the basics as a rail labourer and given the opportunity to grow and develop to further your skills to learn new skills and progress your career.

- Current valid Victorian Drivers Licence

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 / Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019) and will be paid as a IMW TRACK 1.1 $35.3902
