Way Maintainer – Kilmore East

  •  Permanent Full Time role, with own RTO on site to help you grow and develop.
  • Based in Victoria’s Regional Town of Kilmore
  • $35.3902 EA rate plus super and 17.5% leave loading

About the role

As the Way Maintainer, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Development Asset and Maintenance Group.

As a Way Maintainer you will carry out maintenance work of a specialised nature specifically related to V/Line’s Infrastructure. 

Hours of work on current roster are Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 4.00 pm with a rostered  day off each fortnight

 Key Accountabilities include:

  • Maintenance work including the renewal of track work and crossings including sleepers, rail, ballasts, and fastenings.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with appropriate OH&S standards and regulations.
  • Based in Kilmore East, travel across the wider Northeastern region will be required at times.

About you

In this role you will be required to work within a team environment, follow directions and work safely following process and procedures to keep you and the people around you safe.  Previous experience working within a similar environment performing manual labour and hand tool experience is required.

 Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Team-oriented with a capacity to follow directions and maintain safety standards.
  • Experience in manual labour and proficiency with hand tools is essential.
  • Preferred experience in rail labour or related fields such as construction or heavy industry.
  • Strong communication abilities and a commitment to a zero-harm workplace.
  • Openness to learning and working within a diverse team environment.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019 and will be paid as an IMW (TRACK) 1.1 at a rate of $35.3902 plus 11.5% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.

Current employees are expected to remain in their role for a minimum of 12 months before applying to new positions within V/Line.
