About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Events Operations Supervisor within the hospitality industry to lead a small team and its busy event schedule. The Individual will need to have an event operations background, with good planning and operational understanding/skills. The successful applicant will be working with the Owners and Sales Manager to run the scheduled functions / events. Overseeing the delivery of a range events and functions across the venue, you will take pride in your high standards, energy, leadership and coordination skills.
Qualifications, experience and Essential skills
- Previously held positions of leadership in Events Operations
- Understand the responsibility and urgency needed for smooth running events
- Must be able to work as part of a team and be a dependable leader
- Good communication and work ethic
- Experience working in high volume functions is beneficial
- Being an all-rounder, resilient, and be willing to get “hands on”
- A hands-on and supportive leadership style
- Excellent organisational, time management and multitasking skills and a keen eye for detail
- Able to work under pressure, and have Preventative Action Management skills and conflict resolution skills
- A positive, flexible working attitude and friendly manner,
Tasks & responsibilities – About the Role
- Organising ordering and prep of required products in advance
- Able to lead from the front and be hands on, and be an all-rounder
- Able to work unsupervised and within a team, as well as have the ability to lead a team.
- Understanding of Casual Staff
- Can co-ordinate staff rosters and allocations to budget
- Must be motivated and enthusiastic to drive the business forward
- Ability to work calmly under pressure in a demanding environment
- Will be required to oversee events and private functions
- Needs to be well organised and have good time management skills
- Must be available to work weekends
- Be able to provide direction and guidance to the team for flawless execution of events
- Must have good problem solving skills
- Liaising with the Sales Manager to ensure all preparations for the functions and events are running to schedule.
- Must have strong communication skills to communicate with FOH and BOH staff, kitchen, managers, event team and guests to ensure smooth execution
- Have sound computer skills
- Able to roster and manage a small team.
- Impeccable presentation skills
- Crowd Control experience
- Basic bookkeeping skills for suppliers and staff hours reporting.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or 2-3 years management experience in Events & Bar scene
Work Eligibility:
- Job Types: (Australian Citizen, permanent resident) (Preferred)
- Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours.
- Flexible work hours, no two weeks are the same; fluctuating weekly requirements approximately 4 days however availability for Events - taking place Thursday, Friday and Saturdays evenings is essential
- Remuneration negotiated according to skills and experience
