Quality Control/Weighbridge Operator (Day Shift)

About The Role
Based in Officer, the Quality Control/Weighbridge Operator is responsible for the overall operation of our clients Weighbridge and ensuring quality of raw materials. A core component of this role is the sampling & testing of raw materials, empty bags & labels. Additionally, the Quality Control/Weighbridge Operator is also responsible for maintaining retention samples of raw materials, ensuring safety of self and people in immediate area, and maintaining cleanliness of the inside and outside of weighbridge office. The role will report to the Production Manager and will liaise with numerous contacts to ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure all raw material deliveries are entered into Pronto.
- Ensure all raw materials arriving have a retention sample taken, including grain, liquid and powder samples.
- Management of raw material samples including disposing of old samples.
- Ensuring all raw materials are sampled and tested as per correct procedures and quality specifications.
- Referring materials, bags or labels that do not meet standards to Production & Quality Managers.
- Advising vehicle driver if a raw material is rejected.
- Perform daily weighbridge and scale checks & record the details in the scale log.
- Ensure traceability of raw materials is maintained at all times.
- Maintain inside and outside of the weighbridge office and raw material testing equipment in a clean and tidy state and in good working order.
- Collect & Sieve all export retention samples.
- Unload deliveries of inwards goods and containers using forklift or Mobicon.
- Obtain silo stock takes and input data into network daily.
- Make suggestions to improve plant and equipment so greater efficiencies can be achieved.
- Any other tasks requested by your manager.
