About the Role
An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced professional in Wellbeing, Health & Safety to join TAFE Gippsland. The Wellbeing Health & Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in elevating TAFE Gippsland's performance and reputation through the effective implementation of safe working practices, proactive elimination of risks to the health and safety of others, and the effective management of health and safety incidents. Acting as the coordinator of Return to Work, you will develop Return to Work plans in collaboration with injured staff and healthcare practitioners. Additionally, you will supervise and guide the accident investigation process and collaborate with the Wellbeing, Health, and Safety Manager on findings and outcomes. Travel across Campuses is a requirement of the role. A six-month probationary period applies.
Your Experience and Qualifications
You have a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent) or 3-5+ year’s experience in a Return to Work role. Demonstrated experience in a similar role is highly desirable. Return to Work accreditation is mandatory and you will have experience in monitoring WHS systems and practices in a multi-dimensional, multi-site organisation in line with legislative and compliance requirements. You will have experience and expertise in undertaking WHS and risk assessments, hazard identification and injury investigations, including the development of practical resolution strategies. You will possess a sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and trends. Experience in managing complex mental health claims is advantageous
You have high level analytical and advisory skills, with the ability to communicate, influence and engage stakeholders at all different levels to build mutually beneficial relationships.
All TAFE Gippsland staff require a current Drivers Licence, employee Working with Children Clearance and satisfactory National Police Check and Current Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate (2 doses).
