Role
Will usually be a member of the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
A school or group of schools would need to have the necessary diversity and complexity to create a role at range 5. Management of a major school or district initiative, project or Department targeted strategy would be an indicator depending on the breadth of management responsibilities.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Responsibilities
To liaise with the relevant sub school teams and assist in the development, implementation and documentation of student engagement and well-being programs.
To work in conjunction with the Leading Teachers of each sub-school team to develop and implement curriculum programs that promote social competencies. (Respectful Relationships)
To provide or facilitate effective counselling, mediation and case management for students with wellbeing issues.
To provide prevention and crisis intervention with individual students, groups and their families.
To establish relevant school-based wellbeing initiatives.
To present and/or facilitate wellbeing education programs for students.
To develop and implement strategies to foster student self-esteem and resilience.

Location Profile
Epping Views Primary School commenced in 2008. The school is located on a 3.4 hectare site bounded by Lyndarum Drive, Mansfield and Dunolly Streets in the Lyndarum Estate, North Epping. There is a shopping complex situated in Lyndarum Drive with the Epping Views Kindergarten opposite the school.
The enrolment in 2022 is 1090+ students operating across 45 classes comprising of straight grades from prep to year six. There is a strict zone in place and numbers are beginning to decrease. It is expected that we will have 42 classes and approximately 1000 students in 2023.
The school community encompasses a rich multicultural heritage and a diverse socio economic population. The majority of the students are from the rapidly growing housing developments surrounding the school in the Epping North area. The school places a great emphasis on making new staff, students and parents feel settled and a part of our developing school community.
The state of the art facilities have been designed to allow for maximum utilisation of space. This enables co-operative teaching in common areas as well as specific class spaces and break out areas. Considerable external access allows for outdoor learning, easy and safe access to toilets, appropriate resource storage areas and central resource/Library centres to the main teaching areas. The school is ICT rich with flexibility to allow access to ICT communication anywhere within the learning spaces. There are a large number of relocatable buildings strategically placed to accommodate the growing school population.
We currently offer specialist classes in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, LOTE – Italian, Phys Ed, Digital Learning, Library, and support programs in EAL, Oral Language, Tutoring in Years 1-6, Numeracy Extension, Wellbeing Zones of Regulation and Support programs with classroom teachers implementing all other aspects of the school program. All year levels are supported by Teacher Aides. The school has a strong focus on Literacy, Numeracy and ICT/Digital Learning. The school is implementing a School Wide Positive Behaviour Support framework (SWPBS).
Epping Views Primary School is developing strong bonds with the school and local communities. Parent and student involvement is actively sought in practices in the school. EVPS has become a Healthy Together award school and is a ‘five star’ Sustainable School. We have implemented many sustainable practices into our school culture. All students and staff are involved in one of four Action Teams for Energy, Waste, Water or Biodiversity.
