AddressBrunel Australasia has partnered with one of the world's premier energy companies to find a Wells Engineer - Well Interventions / P&A to join their team in their Brisbane CBD office with occasional site travel..
Our clients operations include a diverse array of interventions and decommissioning tasks, handling approximately 700 Well Interventions yearly, along with numerous logging runs and unique equipment implementations. This role is critical in supporting the operation of several Well Interventions rigs, including upcoming underbalanced workover operations, coiled tubing units, multiple wireline/slickline units, along with overseeing wellsite activities, decommissioning, and restoration projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and interventions across an extensive operational landscape. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining operational standards and extending the lifecycle of well assets, whilst ensuring compliance with high safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and develop well intervention operations, including workovers, well impairment/skin removal/reduction operation, P&A and decommissioning activities, ensuring alignment with industry standards and local regulations.
- Develop and update strategies for downhole well life extension, overseeing trials and full-scale implementations.
- Develop and plan operations to align with industry standards and local regulations to safeguard the personnel, environment, and community.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of P&A and D&R projects, including rig and equipment selection, contracting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization, including Wells Performance and Planning, Drilling, Asset Operations Production, and more, to align and execute project objectives effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety behaviors and environmental compliance on-site, promoting a culture of "No harm", "No leaks", and "Goal Zero".
- Prepare and manage project documentation and ensure accurate reporting for regulatory compliance.
- Act as a key liaison across multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
- Engineering degree
- Extensive relevant Wells experience and able to work independently
- Current IWCF
- Strong understanding of the Well Delivery Process and related value creation activities.
- Working knowledge of workover rig and coiled tubing operations.
- Working knowledge of EDM well engineering software packages or able to learn quickly.
- Good project management and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Experience dealing with competing priorities and making decisions without undue delay.
- Experience in CSG (Coal Seam Gas) / CBM (Coal Bed Methane), Unconventional, or other high intensity land operations and/or operations on privately owned land is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and interfacing skills are required including ability to work across multiple complex interfaces.
- Experience with Artificial Lifts
- Hold full Australian working rights and be located in Brisbane.
- Initially a 12 month contract
- Based in Brisbane CBD with regular site travel
- Mon - Fri
- $1428 p/d including super
