What role you will play in our team
Assist drilling engineers with studies and performance benchmarking while gaining an understanding of the engineering requirements to design and execute the drilling of onshore wells.
What you will do
- Assist with design of drilling programs and procedures and provide technical analyses on well trajectory, tubular design, and torque and drag.
- Work with drilling engineers and cross functional disciplines to implement design improvements and/or field trials on well equipment or procedures.
- Lead offset well reviews to investigate drilling problems and benchmark performance with industry peers to support best in class well delivery.
- Assist drilling engineers with rig surveillance including performance benchmarking, continuous improvement initiatives, and adherence to internal best practices,
- Lead or participate in morning rig calls, drilling technical reviews, or risk assessments.
- Identify new well opportunities, efficiencies or technical trials, evaluate risks and benefits, and lead implementation.
- Work with suppliers to redesign and trial new equipment, tools and technologies to improve drilling cost and reliability.
- Participate in technical training, technical reviews, or workshops.
Skills and Qualifications
- Second or Third Year of an engineering program at a Canadian accredited university
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record are required.
- Prior oil and gas or industrial experience an asset.
- Role best suited for Petroleum, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering programs.
