Meatsmith currently operates 4 retail stores as well as a wholesale department. We're continuing to grow, and looking for a Wholesale & Distribution Team Leader to join our production team at our Fitzroy store.
The candidate we are looking for will have the ability to lead a small team of up 5 people, with strong organisational, forward planning skills, and an eye for quality and detail (experience within the wholesale/retail industry will be advantageous). They will have strong time and interpersonal management skills adhering to packing & dispatch schedules. As well as robust understanding of HACCP and understand the importance of labelling, legislative and weights & measurers within the retail industry.
Responsibilities include
- Daily direct leadership of 2 to 5 team members
- Invoicing / reconciling and processing invoices
- Date rotation and stock management
- Packaging, labelling and dispatch of smallgoods and food products from our inhouse kitchen.
- Ensuring industry packaging and labelling guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- Enforcing all aspects of safe food handling requirements during packing and dispatch (current food handlers certificate is a plus)
- Experience using Fresho would be a plus but not essential
- Assisting in routine stocktaking
- Receiving stock from internal and external suppliers
- Maintaining high cleaning standards of the department

We have an in house kitchen producing restaurant-quality meals, sauces & condiments, as well as a smokehouse producing a range of smallgoods, pates & terrines. In addition to this, our dry-age coolroom sees a rotating range of cuts from different breeds of beef, sold in-store as well as to some of Melbourne's best restaurants.
