This role is based onsite at the Tindal RAAF Base in Katherine, NT reporting to our Group WHS Manager. The focus of this role is to work closely with the Site and Projects Managers to ensure the day-to-day health and safety functions are running smoothly. This role will also include WHS administration of our online platform (app) so our onsite paper processes, compliance, inductions, licences and insurances, etc. are combined into one easy online platform. 

Key role responsibilities: 
  • Undertake and coordinate onsite WHS activities from the Group WHS Manager.
  • Subcontractor onboarding and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience as a WHS Advisor, both in the field and onsite,  and the ability to manage computer-based systems in government funded projects, commercial and or industrial fields is highly regarded. 
  • Carry out basic safety inspections.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and computer literacy. 
  • Ability to effectively manage site-based hazards and risks.
  • Assist with incident investigation and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Basic understanding of environmental and OHS risk management.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret policy and procedures.
  • Ability to travel locally in a Company vehicle (as required). 
  • Be able to work autonomously and within a team.
Candidate requirements: 
  • Tertiary qualification in WHS or similar field and previous experience. 
  • Current driver's licence. 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical (inc. ongoing drug and alcohol). 
  • Current National Police Certificate.
  • Construction White Card.
  • First Aid / CPR, Drug & Alcohol, RRTWC qualifications highly regarded.
  • Have an understanding of OFSC is desirable, but desirable.
