About the role
This role is vital in supporting the organisation and contributing to the overall success of our business. We are looking for a WHS Compliance Advisor to join our Smithfield team. The ideal candidate will be driven, have a positive attitude, and take pride in their work. Our depot is located at Smithfield, Sydney. This position will help ensure the Heavy Vehicle compliance of their fleet and sub-contractors, including trucks and plant.
Duties and responsibilities (though not limited to):
• Managing and reporting on incident investigations.
• Attending client meetings.
• Updating Policies and Procedures according to legislation.
• Maintain Heavy Vehicle Accreditation
• Monitoring and leading internal and external audits across site.
• Ensure safety systems are being implemented and reporting on heavy vehicle/plant compliance.
• Engaging with supervisors/drivers/operators relating to breaches.
• Managing GPS Tracking initiatives/programs.
• Reviewing and improving safety processes.
Essential criteria:
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in Safety/Compliance
- Understanding of safe working method statements, implementing changes and training.
- Excellent verbal, written and professional communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Understanding of chain of responsibility (CoR)
- Understanding of The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR)
