About the role

We're seeking a WHS Manager - Victoria to lead the workplace health and safety (WHS) function across Transurban's Victorian business, including the operation of motorways, delivery projects and our Melbourne-based offices. This pivotal role will see you ensure that Transurban remains positioned as an industry leader in WHS with the breadth of the role influencing a range of stakeholders including employees, contractors and government agencies.

As our Victorian WHS Manager you'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the culture of our business and the future of our cities and communities. It's meaningful, challenging and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:

• Actively contribute to the development of Transurban's group-wide WHS strategy
• Lead the development and implementation of WHS Improvement Plans for the Victorian business
• Drive continuous improvement of WHS management systems, including plans, procedures and risk assessments for operational assets and delivery projects
• Oversee WHS audit, assurance and reporting programs, including contractor management processes
• Shape and lead programs to enhance WHS culture and leadership capability
• Facilitate WHS review forums with key partners and senior leaders
• Lead and mentor a high-performing WHS team
• Foster trusted relationships with stakeholders to positively influence WHS outcomes.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

• Significant experience in a WHS leadership role within an operational environment
• Exceptional relationship and influencing skills
• Proven ability to manage change and lead WHS improvement projects
• Significant experience with the design and implementation of WHS management systems and risk management frameworks
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills
• Highly proficient written communication and report writing skills
• Proven ability to lead a high performing team
• A passion for innovation and continuous improvement
