Form of workAbout the position:
We are looking for a WHS manager to join our workplace to help deliver our safe work strategy. Working across both locations you will advise and instruct management and staff on how to work safely. We are looking for an energetic motivated and experienced person to lead us.
Day to day you will be responsible for
- Identifying hazards, managing incidents and advising management and team leaders on safer work practices.
- Conducting training sessions and doing presentations such as toolbox meetings to discuss work health safety issues.
- Investigate near misses or incidents that happen in the workplace and then develop ways to eliminate or engineer a safer option.
- Liase with staff and management to develop a positive safety culture in the workplace.
- Examine the workplace processes and where needed engineer safer work options.
About the Companies:
Vennings and Venning Engineering are located in Kadina SA, and are a long-established family business, Vennings started in 1904 as a general garage and mechanical repair shop. The two companies employ approximately 50 locals across two locations. Vennings - Mines Road and Venning Engineering Pty Ltd - Martin Tce manufacture bulk grain handling equipment and retail to primary producers across Australia either directly or via a team of agents in most states.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Current driver's license
- Qualifications or proven strong understanding / experience in the WHS discipline
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people within the workplace.
- Good understanding of computer-based software programs (word etc)
- Attention to detail.
About the area:
Kadina is one town within the Copper Coast, this is located at the northern end of the Yorke Peninsula, part of South Australia. Located 150kms (1.75 hours) from the Adelaide CBD, the Copper Coast has a population of approximately 15000 people and is close to the fantastic beaches of Wallaroo and Moonta. Great fishing off the Jetty or on a boat in the gulf.
Kadina is the local shopping district for the peninsula and has supermarkets, most banks, Centrelink and a choice of either public or private R-12 schools.
Sporting facilities are excellent with Football, Hockey, Netball, Tennis, Basketball and other sports available locally.
