Due to recent growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a professional, driven, and highly motivated person to fill the role of WHSEQ Advisor to be predominately site based on major infrastructure projects located throughout the Northern Territory. The core purpose of the role is to provide continual improvement at the Project level through implementation of the WHSEQ Management Systems and providing support and assistance to Project Teams. The role will involve coordination of WHSEQ reporting and compliance to company and client requirements. Maintaining current knowledge of legal and regulatory WHSEQ matters is key to the role.
Our range of projects include building, civil, environmental / remediation projects and demolition / decommissioning projects; which consistently ensure high quality project delivery outcomes.

- Promote the Safety Certainty 2.0 Program and ensure it is effectively implemented on site(s)
- Complete incident investigations as required
- Assist in the development of the project Risk Assessment Register
- Assist the Project Team in the development of SWMSs and JSEAs
- Conduct SIFER Self Assessments and Safe Act Observations on a regular basis
- Ensure Toolbox meetings are held weekly and encourage workforce feedback on WHSEQ matters
- Attend daily prestart meetings and provide WHSEQ input applicable to the works
- Assist the Project Team in the subcontractor onboarding processes
- Conduct Drug (indicative) and Alcohol testing as requested by the National WHS Operations Manager
- Assist in the facilitation of Union and Regulator visits with regards to safety matters on sites
- Ensure new / changed Company WHSEQ processes are communicated to the Project Team and workforce, and are effectively implemented
- Ensure project specific WHSEQ Management Plans are reviewed as required by Project Teams
- Assist project teams prepare for upcoming audits
- Complete any other reasonable adhoc tasks / activities requested by Management
- The ability to work away may be required in this position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Certificate IV or greater in WHS
- Ability to obtain ADF DCAC & Police Check
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Good time management skills and ability to work independently
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as Construction Safety Advisor (desirable)
- ICAM Lead Investigator Training (desirable)
- Willingness to work remotely for periods within the NT (desirable)
- Good knowledge of Asbestos Removal & Demolition (desirable)
