We are looking for Wind Farm Technicians (with an electrical or mechanical fitter background) and Wind Farm Technician Trainees (Trade Assistant background) to be based at our Challicum Hills Wind Farm near Ararat in Victoria. These are permanent roles, and we are ideally looking for people who live locally to Challicum Hills Wind Farm. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the renewable energy. As a Wind Farm Technician, you will focus on carrying out routine maintenance, breakdown maintenance and implementation of upgrades on the wind turbines.

What you’ll do
- Perform planned preventative maintenance routines and make performance checks as required
- Repair, refurbish or replace defective plant equipment and perform corrective maintenance activities as required to restore plant and equipment performance
- Operate and / or assist with the operation of all assigned plants
- Document all activities, readings taken, materials and time used to input information into the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Ensure that technical procedures and inspection and test plans are performed in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements
- Respond to afterhours call out in accordance with the Standby/call out roster
- Provide support to other Wind Farm sites as required or directed by the Operations Manager Wind Farms
- Provide mentoring of other team members to support the team growth
- Participate in appropriate training both formally and informally (by passing on own expertise) as required
- An accredited Electrical (with HV switching desirable) or Mechanical Fitter Qualification or Trades Assistants for the Trainee roles
- Working at Heights certification. Heights rescue desirable
- Current Driver’s License
- Significant work experience in the heavy industry sector
- Basic Knowledge of asset management principles
