As the Senior Project Manager – Wind Farm Substation within the Renewables Engineering Team, you'll be at the forefront of this renewable energy revolution and be responsible for end-to-end management of project design, delivery and budget of the Substation Upgrade at Macarthur Wind Farm and Tarrone. This role includes compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, safety leadership and performance, contractor management and liaison with other key stakeholders.

This is a fixed term 2 year contract.
What you’ll be doing:
Overseeing the delivery of project on schedule, budget, quality including planning, coordinating and directing the design and construction contractors to deliver project outcomes and associated benefits as well as appointing, engaging and motivating the contributing parties including consultants and any equipment suppliers or manufacturers.
Preparing board papers to seek approval for the procurement, construction, commissioning and demolition of the Substation Upgrade.
Preparing and maintaining a Project Management Plan to formally document the scope, methodology, and success measures for the project design, and coordinating and leading resources to obtain all permits and licenses required to complete the design and preparation for construction activities of the project, and coordinating and leading concept design, detailed design and tender evaluation workshops.
Work with procurement in the negotiation of the commercial and contractual relationships with contractors to ensure that they fully reflect agreed commitments and adequately manage AGL’s project risk.
Provide regular project update through regular reporting and hosting steer co meetings including forecasts to completion, risk status, issues, budget and milestone updates.
Engaging and strategically managing community and external stakeholder relationships by ensuring consistency of key communications are aligned to AGL’s strategy and public commitments.
Ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environment Systems and goals are communicated and adhered to while meeting AGL’s policies and standards for HSE management.
What you’ll bring:
Tertiary qualifications preferably in Electrical Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer or eligible to apply coupled with experience in the utility industry (either generation or transmission) and Substation Upgrade or high voltage project experience high desired.
An understanding of NEM rules, planning and environmental requirements for construction purposes including successful project executive in the context of difficult regulatory and financing environment.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders including regulators and government agencies, and experience developing and submitting planning and environmental permits.
Demonstrated project management, budget delivery and accountability skills for projects greater than $30 million, as well as strong analytical and conceptual skills, and good commercial awareness and acumen and strong reporting skills.
Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, have effective on-site presence, high standard of safety performance and experience in proactive management of contractors.
