About the Division / Team
Our Interstate network is responsible for the management of approximately 6,000km of track and servicing a broad range of supply chains. The team comprises more than 500 staff and 24 provisioning centres and depots, which continue to deliver major corridor maintenance works and projects across the country to increase the efficiency and capacity of Australia's rail network.
About the Opportunity
Lead and supervise a multi-skilled workforce to deliver work in line with appropriate standards to ensure the operational integrity and efficiency within a defined rail corridor.
Ensure mandatory systematic inspection, examination, condition monitoring and functional checks on the rail infrastructure are conducted and take appropriate action to ensure rail infrastructure is in a safe operational condition.
- Lead and manage the performance of a Work Group to promote and encourage a positive work culture within the team
- Ensure inspection, examination, condition monitoring and functional checks on the rail infrastructure are completed
- Attend to emergencies to ensure equipment is safely returned to service in a timely manner
- Ensure recording and reporting of defective infrastructure in ARTC systems
- Recording of configuration changes in the works management system
- Plan and deliver allocated maintenance works by determining appropriate resource allocation including personnel, plant and material allocation
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Detailed knowledge of a single rail infrastructure discipline stream (track, structures or signalling)
- Certification in infrastructure inspection, assessment and repair
- Ability to undertake asset condition forecasting and reporting
- Experience in the supervision of multi-disciplined teams
- Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation
- C Class Drivers Licence
- Well-developed problem resolution skills together with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
