Xavier College now invites applications from experienced Work Health and Safety professionals to join the College community in a permanent, full-time, dynamic role.
As a Work Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture. You will implement WHS policies, procedures and provide advice, support and guidance to College Leadership and staff, ensuring legislative requirements and Safety obligations are met across all campuses.
This is a busy and varied role that requires in-depth knowledge and experience in similar or comparable safety position. The successful applicant will be based at the Gawler Belt campus with an expectation to travel between the three campuses.

About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- have formal Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Work Health and Safety and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role
- have a genuine enthusiasm and focus for WHS policies and procedures
- proactive and results-driven approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving safety objectives
- proven ability to conduct and review risk assessments and implement effective control measures
- have the ability to quickly establish positive working relationships with all members of the College community and members of external organisations, affiliated with, or providing services to the College
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- excellent WHS document control
- operate under minimal direction and respond to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
- have a current full SA drivers license
