Who we are 

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 470 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.

AGIG is leading the way for the Australian renewable gas sector, and are committed to sustainable gas delivery today, and tomorrow. Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.

About the Opportunity 

AGIG is currently seeking a professional Work Practices Partner to join a highly skilled team. This new position will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, monitoring and review of Work Practices policy and procedures relevant to the business operation. 

This pivotal role collaborates and engages staff to develop work practice requirements, provide coaching and mentoring opportunities and audit performance. Based in our Perth office with some requirement to travel to site. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate work practice cultural change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop, review, and endorse Work Practices procedures, associated systems and processes with key stakeholders
  • Deliver Work Practices induction and training 
  • Develop and review training materials, ensuring they are in line with, procedures, industry standards and legal requirements
  • Coach and mentor field employees and operational teams during planned engagements
  • Conduct and participate in incident investigations and analysis and support the implementation of early intervention and return to work programs
  • Participate in industry-based forums to stay abreast of best practice and industry developments

About You

  • Gas Industry Technical qualification or Gas utility work practice advisor experience
  • Knowledge of HSE Management Systems and Safety and energy regulations
  • Proven experience in operational gas Work Practices
  • Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for the purpose of fostering safety culture and engagement through coaching and mentoring
