Our client is a highly recognized brand renowned for excellence in the automotive space. The Workplace Healthand Safety Business Partner / Manager plays a crucial role in collaborating with Company Officers to ensure compliance under NSW Work Health & Safety Legislation.
The successful candidate will come from a WHS compliance background and be highly knowledgeable in the WHS Act, combined with a solid understanding of Workcover NSW protocols. This role depending on the calibre of the successful candidates may be classified as either a WHS Business Partner or WHS Manager.
About the role
- Implement and execute WHS management strategies aligned with Workplace Health and Safety legislative standards to fulfill overarching safety objectives and minimize workplace incidents.
- Develop and uphold WHS policies and procedures to ensure uniformity and compliance throughout the organization.
- Provide expert guidance to managers on safety and injury management legislation, ensuring all actions are in line with compliance requirements.
- Serve as a primary liaison for managers concerning the introduction of new processes, equipment, and chemicals, offering advice on legislative requirements.
- Conduct thorough accident and incident investigations to pinpoint root causes and implement preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
- Foster a culture of heightened safety consciousness and adherence among all staff through regular communication sessions, toolboxes, and tailored training initiatives.
- Identify hazards and collaborate with stakeholders to promptly address issues and minimize risks.
- Ensure subcontractors are engaged and managed to comply with all WHS requirements.
About you
- Proven track record as a WHS Professional.
- Relevant WHS qualifications, including return-to-work experience or certifications, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of WHS legal requirements.
- ICAM Lead Investigator certification or equivalent required.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
- Proficient problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with competing priorities efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to generate comprehensive reports tailored to various management levels.
- Prior experience in conducting safety audits and delivering training will be highly regarded.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Possession of a current Driver's license.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
