ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Workplace Health & Safety Specialist. As we continue to grow, this role will ensure our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices & initiatives minimise risk and promote health, safety and wellbeing across Lotte Duty Free retail sites & Distribution centres in Australia and New Zealand.
YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Developing and implementing a health safety and environmental management system, comprising of policies, procedures and industry best practices. Train and support operational teams in the use of the management system.
- Implementation of recommendations from internal and external audits, health and safety environment inspections to ensure WHS legislation compliance across Australian and New Zealand.
- Business partnering warehouse, distribution centres and retail teams to support and advise on operational WHS matters.
- Conduct internal WHS audits, support operational teams with rectification.
- Establish corporate reporting WHS metrics
- Identify and facilitate the rollout of practical, business specific WHS training across retail, warehouse and distribution centre teams.
- Create a safety culture with best-practice. training, manuals & procedures and through intuitive leadership, while enhancing and implementing WHS processes, policies, and procedures.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Workplace Health & Safety.
- Demonstrated experience (at least 6 years) in occupational Health & Safety.
- Must possess a solid understanding of the WHS legislative frameworks across States in AU (VIC, NSW, NT, QLD) and knowledge of New Zealand workplace safety laws.
- Understand the requirements of ISO45001 and ISO14001, and can develop system requirements in line with these standards.
- Proven ability to drive and execute WHS best practices, processes and procedures and provide technical advice.
- Comfortable with interstate travel and state-based travel (store/warehouse visits) across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, and Wellington (NZ), as required.
Desirable
- Relevant experience within retail industry
- Return to Work certificate and First Aid certificate
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation specific to Australia (VIC, NSW, NT, QLD) and New Zealand (Wellington)
