Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a Workplace Rehabilitation Officer within the Safety & Wellbeing team to coordinate work related and non-work-related injury and illness rehabilitation and return to work services across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). This role has a focus on early intervention and improving safe and sustainable return to work outcomes to reduce workplace injury, claims costs and durations.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Workplace Rehabilitation Officer within the Safety & Wellbeing team to coordinate work related and non-work-related injury and illness rehabilitation and return to work services across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). This role has a focus on early intervention and improving safe and sustainable return to work outcomes to reduce workplace injury, claims costs and durations.  

The Workplace Rehabilitation Officer reports to the Senior Workplace Rehabilitation Advisor.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Provide rehabilitation and return to work end to end case management that is person centred and considers cost-effective solutions to facilitate safe and sustainable outcomes for workers participating in return to work programs.
  • Assist in the delivery and implementation of rehabilitation and return to work initiatives by collaborating with all managers and leaders.
  • Consult with injured or ill workers, medical and allied health practitioners and other relevant stakeholders to identify early intervention measures .
  • Provide person centred case management of injured workers, including support in reviewing cases and updating injury management plans.

Remuneration value up to $110 852 p.a., comprising salary between $88 187 - $97 157 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4) (temporary position available for 12 months). Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy.
