Workplace Relations Manager

Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM), operating, maintaining, and transforming part of Victoria's rail network are seeking multiple Workplace Relations Managers in an ongoing permanent capacity.

About the Role

The Workplace Relations Manager partners with the Head of Workplace Relations and the Workplace Relations team, the Executive/Senior Leadership Teams, and operational leaders to provide technical advice and support in the development and delivery of workplace relations strategies and solutions to support the achievement of Metro's strategic, operational and safety objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Partnering with the People Division, Workplace Relations team, and operational managers to support the timely identification and management of workplace relations issues
• Enterprise Agreement Planning and execution as part of the wider Workplace Relations team
• Dispute resolution and complex case management on a range of workplace relations issues
• Management of highly complex cases, dispute resolution and negotiations with union stakeholders
• Development of policies, procedures, standards and other relevant documents to support best practice management of workplace relations issues
• Representing Metro at the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals as required

About You

• Demonstrated experience in successfully managing workplace relations issues in a unionised environment
• Preference for blue collar experience, working with multiple enterprise agreements
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex workplace relations cases and disputes in complex organisations
• Have outstanding stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively with business leaders and multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
