GDL Automotive Services, a reputable and privately-owned automotive business with multiple workshops, is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team in Warriewood. Position Overview: 

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our workshop. Your responsibilities will primarily be as a motor mechanic repairing and servicing vehicles. 

The position involves a management role in the form of being the "second in charge" this will require you to temporally take on the role of the service manager and or workshop controller as required. When the service manager and or workshop controller is absent from work.  

This position offers training and scope for the correct candidate to be a future service manager, workshop controller or store manger of new GDL branch in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service and repair motor vehicles 
• Motivate and manage workshop employees to meet productivity goals.
• Learn and operate company software and systems
• Temporarily take on Service manager, service advisor and workshop controller duties as needed.  
• Communicate with Customers and staff as needed

Required Skills:

• Previous experience in a similar role within a high-volume workshop environment, preferably a dealership.
• Leadership and organizational skills with a high level of technical ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Effective delegation and familiarity with CRM systems and practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
• Capability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts with creative problem-solving.
• Fully qualified Motor Mechanic with 5+ years of experience (excluding apprenticeship)
