Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and facilities are in good working condition, and that maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment and facilities.
- Manage workshop-based repairs and rebuilds of the Company’s Caterpillar and Komatsu construction and mining equipment (engine, transmission, final drives);
- Work closely with the Field Services Superintendent, Managing Director, Maintenance Scheduler and Project Managers to develop and execute daily & weekly workshop execution plans;
- Coordinate with the Field Service Superintendent to ensure synchronisation between field services and workshop across all aspects of equipment maintenance, possibly with specialist teams (mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic, etc);
- Conducting mechanical inspections of equipment and determining repairs required and estimations to bring machine to work ready condition, including estimation of labour allocation and parts cost;
- Effectively manage work teams to ensure safety, availability and reliability targets are being met;
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties (up to 10 people);
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure that production goals are met.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement or repair.
- Develop and manage a budget for maintenance activities, including the purchase of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting)
- Cert IV in Front Line Management / Project Management
- Construction Safety Awareness Training Card
- Current forklift ticket
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field (desirable)
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the mining industry
- Extensive experience in the maintenance and rebuilding of HME components
- Experience with AMT software desirable
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex maintenance issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
