Workshop Mechanic
- Permanant Full Time Opportunity
- 38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight (Paid Rostered Day Off)
- Salary from $62,657.40 - $72,682.99 p.a. plus 11% Superannuation plus allowances
About the Role:
As a Workshop Mechanic, you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, servicing and repair of Council's fleet. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring reliability and safety of Council's plant and fleet assets. You will be required to however not limited to:
- Completing scheduled and breakdown maintenance and repairs on a variety of plant machinery, hydraulic equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Conducting inspections, fault finding and installations on plant and fleet vehicles.
- Monitor and check plant and fleet performance.
- Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance within Councils WHS procedures, adopted SWMS, risk assessments and permit to work practices at all times.
Selection Criteria
- TAFE trade certificate and licence in Automotive (Light Vehicle - Mechanical) and/or Automotive (Heavy Vehicle - Mechanical)
- RMS safety check qualifications (ASCIS examiner)
- Sound Mechanical knowledge and demonstrated experience in maintenance, repair and problem solving.
- Sound working knowledge of activities associated with mechanical workshops (e.g. general lathe, machining skills, oxy cutting, welding etc.).
- Well-developed analytical skills and demonstrated innovative and flexible approach to fault finding and problem solving operational and maintenance requirements.
- Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge and skills in the use of computer applications including email, Microsoft Office suite and other work- related systems.
- NSW Class C Drivers Licence (MR/HR licence highly desirable)
