Bibra Lake Large and Moden Workshop Facility…..

OPS own and operate from large modern facilities, our Bibra Lake facility has 28,000 square meters of land and 6,000square meters of workshop with 9 overhead cranes, an extremely modern facility where equipment repairs, rebuilds, brand new equipment assembly and repair and maintenance of the company owned large hire fleet.

About the Opportunity…..

We are looking for a Workshop Planner to take on this interesting and diverse role, where you will be responsible to work with our team to produce, execute and improve production in our Large and modern Bibra Lake workshop and work with our project manager on project works. You will be reporting to the Service & Technical Manager, with the primary responsible for the planning of all work in the workshop, that includes resource allocation, materials and parts coordination. 

The Planner has a pivotal role in assisting to optimise production and complete customer equipment repairs on time and establish overall construction plans for our projects division. You will also take responsibility for company owned equipment, ensure they remain in compliance with all legislative and regulatory authority requirements. 

Position Description…..

  • Produce a plan for the workshop to carry out equipment repairs and rebuilds that meet the customers time frame, agreed work scope, required man hours and trade classifications, parts list and materials list required for each job. Identify any extra works required carried outside and if agreed, the impact to the completion date. 
  • Provide weekly schedule look ahead for planned work, identify any risk areas where the completion date is at risk of not being met. 
  • Identify any extra work on both customers and OPS owned equipment.
  • Accept responsibility to coordinate all parts and materials are in the workshop in advance of when required. 
  • Provide planning support and assistance to the projects division, when required.
  • Accept responsibility to produce a weekly schedule and three week look ahead plan for all work in the workshop, including refurbishment, minor repairs and equipment servicing. Regularly review the trade classifications required, forecast completion dates, parts and materials requirements.
  • Raise job numbers in Pronto, with budgets, whist the job is in progress compare budget v’s actual, review job costing regularly to ensure running to budget. 
  • Review the pre-delivery, post-hire, workshop and warranty job costs, include all costs including direct and indirect costs. Work closely with Service and Technical Manager to financially track all jobs. Report and identify extra works / variations before they progress, work closely with customer to assist them to decide if they want the extra work carried out. 
  • Regularly review planning approach and workflows, identify areas of improvement and implement in a timely manner, either operationally, client relationship or use of Pronto (ERP). 

About you….

Qualifications / Tickets / Licences:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or mechanical trade background, with demonstrated experience working in a workshop environment, with onsite experience, previous site experience important.
  • Full unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s License. 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in the mining or workshop environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with mobile and fixed plant mineral processing, quarry industry and bulk materials handling.

  • Excellent computer literacy skills, including Office Suite and Pronto ERP system.
  • Be self-motivated, strong commitment to produce quality product and be customer focused.
