Workshop Supervisor

This newly created position will be responsible for supervising and directing the day-to-day fleet maintenance activities based in our Emerald workshop. You will provide effective leadership and direction to maintenance personnel for the repairs and maintenance of Veolia fleet, plant and equipment to ensure the fleet is safe and compliant to operate.

• Full time permanent opportunity 
• Complete autonomy to operate and manage the workshop within scope
• Generous hourly rate with full penalties on all overtime hours worked

• Support ongoing repairs and maintenance of the Veolia Central Qld fleet.
• Coordinate equipment servicing for both internal and site based equipment, including liaising with customers, drivers, operations and other key stakeholders to ensure all matters are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Efficient processing of work orders, purchase orders, timesheets.
• Maintain high workplace health and safety standards through visible leadership and interaction with the workforce. 
• Maintain plant and equipment service records. 
• Manage team performance and provide direction and support and coordinate training and upskilling of staff. 
• Assist the fleet administration team. 
• Manage and coordinate external subcontractors. 
• Escalate concerns and issues to the Fleet Maintenance Manager as required. 
• Provide support to the Fleet Maintenance Manager as required.

• Qualification in heavy vehicle road transport and maintenance or similar
• Experience within a transport or manufacturing operational environment
• Experience supervising and managing a team
• HR licence
• Knowledge of maintenance requirements in a continuous operating environment
• Ability to adapt quickly and prioritise tasks accordingly 
• SAP Plant Maintenance Knowledge or equivalent fleet maintenance system experience (desirable)
