About the role
We are currently seeking a full-time Plant Workshop Supervisor to join our team at our Welshpool depot in WA. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and overseeing the servicing, repair, and maintenance of a diverse range of heavy-duty road construction equipment both in the workshop and in the field across WA. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing defects and failures, conducting road tests, organizing repairs, and ensuring equipment is thoroughly checked both at our depot and in the field after repairs are completed.
Duties
- Oversee workshop resources, including leading hand, HD mechanics, Trade Assistant and Administrator
- Ownership of the fleet hired out to the operational delivery team
- Manage relationships with operational delivery team, suppliers, subcontractors and SPA workshop management team
- Ensure fleet is fit for purpose, functional and prioritized for delivery
Skills & Experience
- TAFE Certificate of Trade for Vehicle/Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic OR demonstrated equivalent qualifications including relevant extensive experience.
- Background in Civil Construction with 10 years experience in repairing and maintaining road construction plant
- HR licence or higher
- Construction induction (White or Blue card)
- Experience using a C-Works or similar
- Inspect and supervisor major repairs, including ordering or parts (where required) in consultation with the Plant Manager
- Demonstrated previous supervisory or management experience within a diverse mechanical workshop
- Demonstrated recent experience in supervision of tradespersons, contractors, apprentices and day labour staff
- Knowledge of workshop operation requirements in relation to Work Health & Safety and Environmental Management principles and compliance codes and standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the use of Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
