About the Position:
The primary aim of the position is to economically maintain a fleet of trucks, trailers and earthmoving equipment ensuring high levels of fleet availability.
The day to day duties include:
- Overseeing workshop activities, including supervision of staff;
- Ensuring high levels of workplace safety;
- Ensuring equipment is returned to service on time and within budget;
- Mentoring trades-persons;
- Diagnostics and fault finding; and
- Use of Pronto and Microsoft.
To be considered for the position, you will possess the following:
- Considerable post apprenticeship experience within the mining, engineering or heavy transport industry;
- Heavy Diesel Mechanical trade certificate;
- Previous leadership and production management skills;
- Demonstrated experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi mobile equipment; Kenworth and Mack Trucks and a wide range of ancillary gear;
- The ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture; and
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
