We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced leader to manage our Muswellbrook yard. Reporting to the NSW Operations Manager, this position provides you with an opportunity to work with our NSW team in order to ensure the yard operates at maximum efficiency whilst maintaining excellent vendor and customer service.
In this position, you will be managing a small, close-knit team of 4 full-time employees and 3 contractors. Experience across the breadth of our yard operations, including Non-Ferrous Buying, Machine & Weighbridge operations, and driver experience, will ensure you are able to step in and support the team where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all yard operations to ensure Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements are exceeded,
- Maximise sustainable profit by establishing and implementing production goals, objectives and procedures in line with budgets and forecasts,
- Use knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and with the use of continuous improvement techniques for maximising the effective processing of scrap,
- Conduct training as required, including induction of new employees.
Essential Criteria:
- 2 + years of previous leadership skills in a similar industry
- Knowledge and understanding of the scrap metal industry and its processing techniques and equipment
- In-depth scheduling, planning, and time management skills
- Basic understanding NHVR mass and dimension limits
- A forklift or Excavator ticket is ideal
- A proactive work style with excellent organisational skills
