The Project
The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunity
The M6 Project has a great opportunity for experienced Yard Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Tunnelling Superintendent, this role will be responsible for the following:
- Safely coordinate day to day logistics, yard, working with multiple teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes
- Manage and supervise yard team members
- Working closely with supervisors to ensure plant, equipment and received materials are available to suit programmed works
- Working with and regular reporting to the Superintendent
- Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to build a risk management culture
About You
- Previous experience as a yard foreman/ supervisor in a similar role
- Substantial industry experience in Trade and Construction
- People and performance management of subcontractors and suppliers
- Trade qualifications or similar
- Awareness of relevant Australian standards and management of relevant aspects of the HVNL
- Good communication, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills
- Solid relationship building skills
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
