(Organisation site ) Office of the Deputy Director-General; Service Delivery – Youth Justice; Brisbane As the Deputy Director-General, Youth Justice Services you will provide high-quality advice and information to the Director-General, Minister and other members of the department’s Board of Management on matters relating to Youth Justice and youth detention service delivery, strategy and performance, Youth Justice regional practice and operations, commissioning and investment, learning and development, cultural policy and practice, and quality and improvement, that support improved policy development, planning, management and operational performance relating to Youth Justice operations. The Deputy Director-General, Youth Justice Services key responsibilities are: Stakeholder and outcome Provide high-quality advice and information to the Director-General, Minister and other members of the department's Board of Management on matters relating to Youth Justice and youth detention service delivery, strategy and performance, Youth Justice regional practice and operations, commissioning and investment, learning and development, cultural policy and practice, and quality and improvement, that support improved policy development, planning, management and operational performance relating to Youth Justice operations. Provide strategic leadership to Regional Directors and regional staff across the state regarding Youth Justice service delivery within Youth Justice Service Centres. Provide strategic leadership to youth detention centres, including executive management and all youth detention staff who provide frontline service delivery to young people in youth detention. Lead the provision of effective, efficient and responsive services through the development and implementation of sound contemporary services and practices, policies and procedures, and business systems. Productive relationships with peak and representative bodies and industrial organisations to ensure that programs and services are high quality and that emerging issues and trends and opportunities for improvement and innovation are identified. Actively participate in and, where appropriate, support high level forums and committees with government and non-government stakeholders. Develop and implement processes to monitor, evaluate, report on and improve service and practice quality, performance and productivity. Drive practices and work collaboratively across the government, non-government and private sector, to implement the department's strategic direction ensuring it is aligned with the Government's objectives and commitments. Internal business Provide high level and specialist advice and information to the Director-General and Minister along with other members of the department's Board of Management on Youth Justice services. Provide superior and decisive workforce leadership, ensuring that management and the broader workforce has the capability to deliver efficient, open and accountable, and best practice Youth Justice services. Develop and drive new policy initiatives and strategies which significantly influence organisational efficiency and cultural change. Lead the investigation of important organisational issues and stimulate the development of strategies to resolve problems affecting youth detention centre operations. Play a key leadership role in promoting a collaborative approach to industrial relations. Ensure Youth Justice contributes to the achievement of the department's purpose and priorities, and its statutory and other accountabilities. Provide strategic oversight, direction and leadership to the division. Actively contribute as a member of the department's Board of Management in developing an inclusive, diverse and collaborative culture, ensuring a high standard of accountability and performance. Ensure that an environment of ethical decision-making exists and is maintained as the context of achieving organisational goals. Foster a culture of best practice and co-design within a high-performing, high-quality, outcomes-focused environment. Effective oversight and monitoring of divisions budget and resourcing in accordance with statutory responsibilities, government decisions and guidelines, and departmental policies and procedures.
