Genplus Hire is a locally owned business - trading for over 20years our tight-nit team is relied upon to provide power generation services for the region's most critical buildings, largest festivals and biggest construction sites. With a service area extending into South Australia and Victoria our work is technically complex and exciting.
Note: This is a 3-month fixed term position with the possibility of extension/permanent employment for the right candidate
About the Position
We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied and physical environment – our work can change from planned jobs to an emergency callout in a matter of minutes so no two days are the same.
When not preparing a hire job the Yardsperson will use their time to:
- ensure that the workshop is clean and presentable
- ensure all outstanding returned equipment is put away
- complete any maintenance tasks (with consideration to their skills and qualifications)
The Duties
- Equipment preparation (pre-hire checks, cleaning and refueling)
- Processing of hire transactions (counting equipment in/out, verifying customer details, completing hire forms, refueling etc)
- General yard duties including vehicle cleaning, accepting deliveries and organisation of equipment
- Loading and unloading of trucks and light vehicles
- Local deliveries/collections via light vehicle
- Other duties as requested, including some onsite work (e.g. setup/packup of events and power outages)
About You
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work in accordance with WHS policies and best practices
- Clear communication skills – can communicate with supervisor and co-workers
- Must be able to pass a police check
- Must hold a current drivers license – (manual desirable)
- Mechanical aptitude – enjoy tinkering with equipment and operating in a hands-on environment (desirable)
- Knowledge of hand/power tools (desirable)
- White card (mandatory) and asbestos/silica awareness (desirable)
- Forklift license (desirable)
- HR or greater licence (desirable)
