Position: Health Promotion (Needle & Syringe Program) Worker
Role of the Position
To maintain and develop the NSP services at Youth Link.
To support the objectives of The Queensland Needle and Syringe Program (QNSP) which aims to reduce the incidence of blood-borne viruses (BBV) and injection-related injuries and disease in Queensland.
To be inclusive of all people including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those from diverse backgrounds, and those experiencing barriers to participation and service access.
Provide access to sterile equipment and safe disposal information and education in a safe, accessible and non-judgmental environment.
To deliver a range of Health promotion and brief intervention strategies and services to reduce the incidence of blood-borne viruses and injection-related injuries and disease in Queensland.
To improve access to BBV testing and treatment opportunities through the provision of information, education and referral.
