About the role
The Principal Lead – Health Promotion role is a key position responsible for driving strategic leadership and expertise in designing, coordinating, and evaluating intricate Health Promotion strategies and interventions. It involves offering specialised guidance and analysis on preventive health strategies both at the state and national levels.
Key responsibilities include leveraging high-level expertise to plan, execute, and assess preventive health programs across various settings, while also providing authoritative advice to senior management and stakeholders to influence strategic policy and program delivery.
Additionally, the role entails leading comprehensive strategic programs, analysing and conveying complex information effectively to diverse stakeholders, fostering collaboration with internal and external partners, and strategically monitoring preventive health initiatives to enhance planning and implementation. Moreover, the role involves leading a small team, nurturing a collaborative work environment, and ensuring optimal team performance and development.

- Ability to lead and supervise a team
- Ability to apply specialised level of knowledge, analysis, expertise and skills to the development of systemic and effective solutions to complex preventive health challenges.

- Ability to provide high-level and effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills at a senior level, and to manage client and stakeholder relations in an environment of change.
- Ability to lead strategic change through shaping policy reform, driving innovation and enabling quality improvement.
- Flexibility in approach to work and working environment and willingness to participate in cross program initiatives.
Qualifications
The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) in Health Promotion, Exercise Physiology, Public Health or Nutrition/Dietetics (proof of qualification required).
