The RoleAn opportunity is available to join my small team of wonderful Youth Workers who help to facilitate my daily life. My Youth Workers assist me on a 2:1 throughout the day.
Due to some of the challenges I face, I can become physically and verbally aggressive. In this instance I would like you to be positive, take time to understand me and keep activities fun and upbeat.
I am seeking a specific Youth Worker who is wanting to join a team environment, passionate about sport, and the outdoors and motivated to support me through my tough times and to achieve my goals. I am part of a football team and cricket team and love heading out to the field.
Key responsibilities:
In home help with schoolwork
Support me to achieve my goals to reach my potential in all facets of my life.
Support my life skill development through proper implementation of established plans and programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes for me.
Actively engage in person centred active support.
Maintain accurate records.
Shifts I am looking for someone to support me on a casual basis with the potential to join the team part time in the future as my supports increase with the right team. My shifts are generally but not limited to:
Monday - Friday 0900 - 1500 and Saturday - Sunday 1000 - 1400.
The ideal candidate will have:
DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC)
NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
Current Driver's Licence (Min P2)
First Aid Certificate & CPR
Must satisfy all Visa requirements to work in Australia
Must be prepared to work over a 24-hour, 7-day rotating roster
Psychometric Assessment or willingness to undertake
About you: I am looking for a fun and positive person to join my team. A good match for me would be someone who has an efficient and confident approach in what they do and possesses a calm and patient nature. A good sense of humour is also important.
Other requirements:
Certificate IV in Child Youth & Family, individual Support, Community Services, Disability, or related.
Demonstrated experience in responding to trauma-related behaviours.
Experience managing challenging and aggressive behaviour.
Ability to implement individualised developmental programs.
Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
Demonstrated oral and written communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to apply computing concepts.
Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service delivery.
