About the Role
This position works within our Student Support Services team and supports students and their families to successfully engage in school.
The role includes:
- Participating as an active member of the Student Support Services team
- Developing strong partnerships with families and students who are disengaged from learning, dysregulated and/or high level of social emotional needs.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing support programs
- Maintaining data bases and accurate record keeping in line with school process
- Providing alternate learning and social options
- Liaising with students, families and teachers to promote social emotional wellbeing for all students
- Referral of students to the appropriate school support services staff and other personnel as required.
- In consultation with the Head of Department and/or Guidance Officer be involved in student programs under the direction of assigned staff.
- Participate in regular monitoring, through observations and evaluation, to promote positive student outcomes.
- Maintain quality in the performance of all duties, ensuring adherence to methods, guidelines and procedures.
- Participate in professional development sessions in areas relevant to work programs and expectations.
