About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team to work across both Disability and Youth Supports!
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide support to our Participants in their homes and the community to increase their individual skills, help build their capacity and achieve their goals! As a Youth Worker, you will provide Support, Mentorship, Supervised Contact and Care to young people in the Newcastle and Hunter Region.
You will promote and provide environments that support the safety, independence, growth, health, and well-being of everyone we support.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in Providing Youth Support and in dealing with complex trauma.
- Ability to form a professional rapport with Young People and Participants.
- An understanding of what it means to support in a way that respects their rights, dignity, values, beliefs, and personal goals
- Ability to effectively manage complex behaviours and situations and use initiative to either resolve or escalate issues as they arise
- Ability to communicate effectively
- A positive attitude!
Essential criteria:
- Clear National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to apply)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- NSW Drivers Licence with your own Comprehensively Insured Car
