About the Role:
Based at our Wendouree Manufacturing Plant, and reporting to the Reliability Leader, Laminex have an exciting and rare opportunity for a 1st Year Apprentice - Maintenance Fitter. This is an incredible opportunity for the right person to begin their career with one of Australia's most iconic manufacturing brands.
The position is open to both mature age and junior apprentices who are both experienced and inexperienced and pay rate will be dependent on employee age.
Standard hours will be arranged upon agreement but will typically involve a 7:00am start.
What our perfect Apprentice might look like:
- Above all else, your commitment, willingness to learn and general attitude will be the main consideration when selecting the successful candidate. Relevant experience will be secondary.
- Commitment to study and completion of Maintenance Fitter Trade Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience with tools is desirable, but not essential
- Evidence of Literacy and Numeracy aptitude
- An understanding of what safety in the workplace looks like and why it is important
- Ability to communicate professionally - written and verbal
- Basic computer skills including data entry and knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Located near Wendouree and able to get to and from work reliably every day
- Able to complete a pre-employment medical examination and drug & alcohol testing
- Enjoy 26 weeks of fully paid parental leave, returning to a 4-day work week at 80% capacity for an eased transition.
