Job description

Company: Join a well-established integrated mining operation based in the Northern Territory, specialising in the production of iron ore and a variety of other commodities. We take pride in our in-house marine and trans-shipment division, which manages a fleet of marine assets dedicated to our trans-shipment operations. Our assets undergo regular statutory dry-docking and maintenance to ensure optimal performance. In addition, we are expanding our existing fleet by incorporating newly acquired marine assets, including assist tugs, crew transfer vessels, and other essential support craft.

About Us: Nathan River Resources is the proud owner and operator of the Roper Bar Iron Ore Mine. We have successfully integrated the entire pit-to-ship logistics chain, including open-pit mines, critical infrastructure, a private haul road, ship loading facilities, and specialised transshipment marine vessels.

Job Opportunity: As a result of the remarkable success of our initial operations, we have accelerated our phase 2 expansion plans. This growth has created a need for additional marine crew members.

Your Role: This is a full-time permanent position represents a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Marine team. You will be reporting to the Marine Superintendent. 

Roles:

  • Chief Engineers - Must hold AMSA NC MED 1 or higher
  • AMSA issued Certificates of Equivalency for the above roles will be considered.

Mandatory Requirements for all positions:

  • Current AMSA Medical
  • Current STCW Certificate of Safety Training Qualification (COST)
  • Current First Aid Certificate

Desirable for this position:

  • Previous experience with Tug and Barge operations.

LOCATION

The operation is FIFO Bing Bong Northern Territory working on a 3 on and 3 off roster. At times this may change due to operational requirements.
