The Child, Youth and Family Health at the Carlyle Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Aboriginal andTorres Strait Islander Advanced Health Worker (Early Childhood) to join their team on a permanent full time basis.
This role is Identified under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

Your opportunity
An Advanced Health Worker is expected to work at an advanced level with minimal supervision. An Advanced Health Worker at the HW4 level will:
Perform a variety of tasks that require a sound knowledge of standards, practices and procedures, and apply primary health care skills obtained through significant training and experience and/or formal vocational development.
Perform a range of tasks of a complex nature, and operate equipment, that require specific levels of skills, training and experience at an advanced level.
Exercise judgement in deciding how tasks are performed and the quality standard of the work.
Manage allocated tasks and work with others to meet deadlines.
Exercise good communication and interpersonal skills where client liaison advocacy and supervisory responsibilities apply.
About the Team
The Child Youth and Family Health (0-18 years) unit is a primary multi-disciplinary health service which is part of the Mackay Hospital and Health Service. The building is located at Carlyle Community Health Centre in Carlyle Street, Mackay. The service extends from Mackay to Sarina and Walkerston. The unit offers client focussed screening, monitoring, guidance and education along with appropriate referrals and early interventions.
