Aboriginal Youth Caseworker - Joint Support ProgramAbout the opportunity
- This is a full-time closed period role (35 hours a week) until 30 June 2025
- Based in the Taree NSW office
- $76,938 base annual pay plus salary packaging up to $18,550 plus Super
- Provide individual case management, in coordinated service delivery with Juvenile Justice, or young people under the supervision of Juvenile Justice in the community and support for those transitioning into the community from custody.
- Identify, articulate and address the assessed needs of the young people and their families.
- Provide coordinated case management that will focus on criminogenic needs determined by a criminogenic risk/ needs assessment conducted by Juvenile Justice.
- Identify appropriate services and advocate for the young person and their families to ensure that targeted outcomes identified in the young person's Juvenile Justice case plan are achieved.
- Provide the minimum number of hours of direct face-to-face casework support each week to the young people and meet expectations from Juvenile Justice regarding direct client hours.
- Provide evidence of Aboriginal identity, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal peoples and communities
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences or community services (minimum Certificate 3)
- Demonstrated previous experience working in the community services sector.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to implement client needs driven casework interventions to effectively engage with young people and their families.
- Experience working independently and as an effective member of a team, including effective time management and ability to work flexible hours.
- Experience in conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills.
- Experience of working with diversity including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse families.
- Holds a current NSW WWCC and Driver's Licence
