We are a dedicated support service committed to providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Male Support Worker with an Aboriginal background to join our team in Yagoona.
Position Overview:
This role involves providing support to a participant with ADHD and behavioral issues. Initially, the shifts will be once a week, with the possibility of increasing hours as the family and participant become comfortable with the arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized care and support to the participant.
- Assist with daily activities, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Implement strategies to manage ADHD and behavioral issues effectively.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment.
- Communicate effectively with the participant's family and other support team members.
- NDIS Screening Check
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Valid Driver's License (D/L)
- Certificate III in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support (Preferred)
- Completion of NDIS Modules: Orientation, Induction, Support Safe & Enjoyable Meals (or willing to obtain)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Experience with ADHD and Behavioral Issues is a must
- Strong understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture and communities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
