Sydney Health Executive Education (SHEEd) is an innovative healthcare education provider designed for mid to advanced career health professionals who are focused on progressing their career, equipping them with the skills to solve complex health issues. Embedded in the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health, SHEEd offers participants and partners the opportunity to connect with some of Australia’s leading academics and clinical affiliates.
We are seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Academic Director-Sydney Health Executive Education (SHEEd). The role involves providing academic leadership, leading engagement efforts, supporting strategy development, building a high-performing academic team, and overseeing ad-hoc projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in academic leadership, experience in successful partnership bidding, strategic planning skills, and the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

• work closely with the Managing Director of SHEEd to provide strategic leadership and ensure the commercial goals of SHEEd are delivered
• manage the education programs to ensure a high degree of academic, clinical and education rigour contributes to the achievement of priorities and objectives of the Health Executive Education unit
• provide academic leadership and connection acting as the primary liaison for academic staff fostering connections with SHEEd
• lead academic engagement managing School and discipline representation on SHEEd Academic Committees and Advisory Groups
• develop the Health Executive Education strategy aligned with SHEEd's commercial strategy, FMH educational offerings, University strategy, and health sector needs
• provide effective leadership and management to academic staff, offering feedback, coaching, and guidance for performance and career development

About you

• hold PhD in health or relevant field, or equivalent work experience working within health care sector in a large and complex, multi faced organisation
• demonstrated ability to collaborate and effectively contribute as a senior staff member
• build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders within a complex organisation
• possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, adept at collaborative work, influencing others, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement and partnership development
• demonstrate a robust knowledge and comprehension of critical strategic issues within the higher education sector on a national and international scale, with a specific focus on emerging trends in post-bachelor education, showcasing an ability to anticipate and adapt to evolving educational landscape
