Currently my client has a position available for an Accommodation Manager that will have responsibility to lead, mentor, assist and support Service Coordinators and House Leaders across a number of complex Supported Independent Living (SIL) Houses. This role supports inclusive and self-dependent participation within the community for their clients. This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis and as the successful candidate is required to travel to different work sites, access to a vehicle and drivers’ licence is necessary.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role that will see you support team members to deliver person centred supports across a number of SIL houses, which you must be able to travel to. Key responsibilities include –
- Overseeing the NDIS planning and coordination of supports to SIL participants such as transition of participants and referrals.
- Overseeing compliance in SIL homes to adhere to the NDIS commissions standards of support delivery
- Identifying, developing, and promoting resources that can be used by SIL service coordinators, team leaders, participants and their families/guardians and other stakeholders.
- Working within, and providing reports as required on service budgets, service accounts and service fees.
- Supporting the SIL Service Coordinators to cost effectively manage their rosters, budgets and funding.
- Engaging with and providing emotional support to participants and other stakeholders, including family members.
- Providing ongoing training and support to team members in an effort to upskill and meet the needs and support goals of NDIS participants.
- Managing staff engagement and performance, identifying opportunities and addressing concerns.
- Maintaining and applying an understanding of NDIS supports, services and guidelines to the intake and review process.
- Responding to and following up enquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring wait lists are effectively managed and any vacancies are filled.
Requirements
With no two days the same, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills being able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders; sound leadership qualities that encourages a responsive and high performing team; and effective time management skills with the ability to manage competing properties.
Ideally, you will have –
- Experience in reporting on Reportable incidents and Restrictive practices (PRODA)
- Knowledge and understanding of the essential principles of the Disability Services Act 2006, NDIS, the principles and function of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and associated accredited standards
- Operational management experience in a community or Supported Independent Living setting.
- Previous experience with supporting people with complex needs and challenging behaviours including but not limited to mental health, acquired brain injury and cognitive disability.
- Experience in working within a quality or compliance framework.
